NORA TOUTAIN

Meet Nora Toutain, the charismatic Franco-Moroccan singer-songwriter making waves in the Montreal music scene. With a dynamic blend of synth-driven alternative R&B, neo-soul, funk, jazz, and afro rhythms, Nora's music is a celebration of her diverse cultural experiences and musical upbringing.

Nora's journey into the world of music began with her collaboration with Kalmunity, Canada's largest music improv collective, where she honed her craft and performed at the prestigious Montreal International Jazz Festival in 2017 & 2018. Graduating from the Vocal Jazz Performance program at the University of Montreal, she further enriched her musical prowess. Nora is also a passionately devoted vocal coach, supporting fellow artists to sing healthily and holistically. In October 2020 and January 2023, Nora released her first two records, Grounding Place vos I and II, crafted in collaboration with Christopher Vincent from Busty and The Bass. The albums were met with widespread acclaim from both fans and the media, with her single "Bad at Love" standing out as a top 10 entry in CBC's searchlight competition in the "Female Soul" category.

Her enchanting stage presence and boundless energy have endeared Nora to audiences at numerous showcases and festivals, including Pop Montreal, Rimouski Jazz Festival, CMW, Afro Urbain Festival, and Folk Alliance. In 2023, she finally headlined her own show at the International Jazz Festival, leaving Montrealers captivated and eager for more.

She just released her third album “Better Days” , where she took the reins as producer, collaborating with her bandmates to shape a record that showcases her unique voice and cultural fusion. The album features three music videos– directed by Nora herself– that visually embody the richness and complexity of her artistic ethos.
