RAYANNAH

Rayannah's singular voice resonates in echoes and layers to create a whole from scratch. Equipped with loop pedals, the bilingual artist builds sequences on the spot with her voice, breath, percussion and synthesizers. Her visceral lyrics in French and English hover over soundscapes that are sometimes sparse, sometimes dense and complex.

A one-woman band both on stage and in the studio, Rayannah unveiled her debut full-length album Nos repaires in March 2019. This new collection of mostly French-language songs continues the momentum of her debut maxi-disc Boxcar Lullabies, while opening up further to the artist's dreamlike, colorful universe.

In 2019, Rayannah was named "Francophone Artist of the Year" and "Director of the Year" with colleague Mario Lepage at the Western Canadian Music Awards, becoming the first Francophones to receive this honor. She also won the "Export Ouest" award at the Trille Or.

Born and still based in Winnipeg, Rayannah has taken her electro-alternative sound across Canada and Europe. Whether opening for Esperanza Spalding, Ariane Moffatt or Saul Williams, alone on stage or accompanied by her band, Rayannah shares a feverish, intimate experience with her audience.
